3. Blockchain & On-Chain Data
RECoin utilizes the Solana blockchain to record property ownership and transaction data. Please be aware of the following:
- Hash-based privacy: We store SHA-256 hashes of sensitive data on-chain rather than raw personal information. Raw data is stored securely in our off-chain database.
- Public ledger: Blockchain transactions are recorded on a public, immutable ledger. While personal identifiers are not directly published, wallet addresses and transaction hashes are publicly visible.
- Immutability: Once data is written to the blockchain, it cannot be modified or deleted. This is a fundamental characteristic of blockchain technology.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We may share your information with:
- KYC/AML service providers: Third-party identity verification and compliance vendors
- Regulatory authorities: Government agencies and law enforcement when required by law or legal process
- Service providers: Cloud hosting, analytics, and infrastructure partners that assist in operating our platform
- Legal proceedings: In response to subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- AES-GCM encryption for sensitive data at rest
- TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit
- Custodial wallet security with encrypted private key storage
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Role-based access controls for internal systems
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. We may also retain certain information as required by law, including for AML/KYC compliance, tax reporting, and dispute resolution purposes. On-chain data is permanent and cannot be deleted due to the immutable nature of blockchain technology.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements
- Portability: Request a portable copy of your data in a structured format
- Objection: Object to certain processing activities
Please note that deletion requests cannot apply to data already recorded on the blockchain, as it is immutable by design.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage patterns, and improve our Services. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, though some features of the platform may not function properly without them.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
